Ph.D. in Physics, Postdoctoral Research Associate

My main interest lies in bridging the gap between theoretical explanation and instructional practice within the field of PER. On one hand, I'm interested in improving the theoretical basis of PER by incorporating new developments in cognitive psychology and neural science. On the other hand, I am eager to apply new theoretical developments to a wide variety of problems in instructional practice, such as designing better computer animation/graphics, teaching the "physics sense" behind math expressions, improving conceptual understanding for abstract physics concepts, and developing strategies to improve problem solving skills in general.
